“Now many nations have gathered against you; they say, “Let her be defiled, let’s gloat over Tziyon.” Micah 4:11
Let Tziyon be defiled! So many self-righteous Christians are gloating over Tziyon and Zionism. They seem to have appointed themselves judges over the Covenant people, the nation and Land that God has placed His Name upon. You can hear the antisemitic rhetoric of the far white right media and the twisted deception of the far-left media. Do they really know who what or who they are defiling?
The Hebrew word Tziyon that we transliterate as “Zion” in most languages has a distinct meaning in Hebrew that is often not recognized in any other language. Hebrew is a deliberate and distinct language of meaning. Even the Hebrew letters have a meaning and serve as building blocks of a word.
The meaning of Tziyon in Hebrew is “God’s Mark or sign” entailing that God has put His “mark” on, the Land of Zion, the Nation of Zion; and the people of Zion. (Numbers 6:22-27, Joel 3:17, Is. 60)
THE LORD’S STORY: EZEKIEL 38
This is the Lord’s story concerning Tziyon – His personal prophetic message! Ezekiel 38 presents a time in the future where the leader of the Northern Country leads an alliance against Israel, with massive challenges and conflict as the Lord, Himself describes in great detail.
38 “The Lord said: 2 Ezekiel, son of man, condemn Gog, that wicked ruler or (chief prince)* of the kingdoms of Meshech and Tubal in the land of Magog”*.
*Note: (or the land of Caucasus- which is now known as Russia, Armenia, Georgia and Turkey) *Chief prince from the word “principality”, high ranking spiritual entity
“Tell him:
I, the Lord God, am your enemy, 4 and I will make you powerless! I will put a hook in your jaw and drag away both you and your large army. You command cavalry troops that wear heavy armor and carry shields and swords. 5 Your army includes soldiers from Persia (Iran), Ethiopia*, and Libya, 6 as well as from Gomer and Beth-Togarmah* in the north. Your army is enormous!”
Notes:
- Persia is known now as modern day, Iran,
- In ancient times, the term “Ethiopia” (Aethiopia) broadly referred to dark-skinned peoples in lands from Africa to India which includes Somolia, Sudan and Libya. All of which are currently considered highly dangerous with strong travel advisories due to active armed conflict, war crimes and human rights abuses, general crime, terrorism, and kidnapping
- Gomer is now considered Central Asia, which includes Turkistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan,(other stans) and China’s Xinjiang (Shinjang) in the northwestern territory of China. The number of Muslims in this part of China has more than doubled since 1982, where now its estimated to be 25 million and growing.
So let’s counting the modern military numbers in these countries is estimated to be about 9 million.
EZEKIEL 38:7-13 A STRANGE PLAN WITH A SPECIFIC PURPOSE
So, the Lord says – Your army is enormous! Then He continues:
“So keep your troops prepared to fight, 8 because in a few years, I will command you to invade Israel, a country that was ruined by war. It was deserted for a long time, but its people have returned from the foreign nations where they once lived. The Israelites now live in peace in the mountains of their own land. 9 But you and your army will attack them like a fierce thunderstorm and surround them like a cloud.”*
*Note: Considering God dictated this prophecy to Ezekiel, we should not be surprised when Israel is invaded by all these nations! Prophesy can only be rewritten by God. So, when we see these things happen it is for the purpose of His good and glory.
“When that day comes, I know that you will have an evil plan 11 to take advantage of Israel, that weak and peaceful country where people live safely inside towns that have no walls or gates or locks. 12 You will rob the people in towns that were once a pile of rubble. These people lived as prisoners in foreign nations, but they have returned to Israel, the most important place in the world*, and they own livestock and property.”
*Note: God declares that Israel is the most important place in the world. It is the foundation- the birthing rock (or mother) of the whole Earth.
13 The people of Sheba and Dedan,* along with merchants from villages in[b] southern Spain, will be your allies.
*Note:
- Sheba and Dedan are modern day Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
- The U.S. is currently in the process of selling advanced fighter jets, including the F-35, to Saudi Arabia, with President Trump announcing approval for major defense packages involving these stealth fighters, marking a significant policy shift to bolster Gulf security against threats like Iran. But what about this prophecy? Pray that he becomes apprised!
“ I, the Lord God, know that when you see my people Israel living in peace, 15 you will lead your powerful cavalry from your kingdom in the north. 16 You will attack my people like a storm-cloud that covers their land. I will let you invade my country Israel, so that every nation on earth will know that I, the Lord, am holy.”*
*Note: The world is watching. But in the midst of this attack God will miraculously vindicate them.
17 “The Lord said to Gog:
Long ago, I ordered my prophets to warn the people of Israel that someday I would send an enemy to attack them. You, Gog, are that enemy, and that day is coming”.
Note: This was prophesied 3,000 years ago – yet God speaks to the leader of Magog in present and futuristic terms – He is actually speaking to the ancient spiritual prince or principality of these regions known by the spiritual name Gog.
“When you invade Israel, I will become furious, 19 and in my anger, *I will send a terrible earthquake to shake Israel. 20 Every living thing on earth will tremble in fear of me—every fish and bird, every wild animal and reptile, and every human. Mountains will crumble, cliffs will fall, and cities will collapse. 21 I, the Lord, will make the mountains of Israel turn against you.[e] Your troops will be so terrified that they will attack each other. 22 I will strike you with diseases and punish you with death. You and your army will be pounded with rainstorms, hailstones, and burning sulfur. 23 I will do these things to show the world that I, the Lord, am holy”. Ez. 38:18-23
*Note: This tremendous and awesome earthquake will grab the attention of the world. It will be different, spiritually commanding. Soldiers sent to fight will die by “acts of God”. It will make the world uneasy and scare myriads of people and nature as well.
The following is an article appeared on the Dec. 24, 2025 edition of Israel Hayom with this headline:
EARTHQUAKE CATASTROPHE LOOMS AS ISRAEL REMAINS DANGEROUSLY UNPREPARED
The article announces that experts forecast as many as 16,000 casualties when this inevitable earthquake strikes.
Excerpt of Article:
Six powerful tremors measuring 2.3-4.7 felt on Wednesday in Israel, which originated near Cyprus, refocused public attention on how such events impact the country
Dr. Ron Avni an earthquake specialist from Ben Gurion University delivers no reassuring message and emphasizes that Israeli citizens face exceptional exposure to earthquake damage from the Syrian-African fault. “Statistical projections indicate one earthquake per century. The prior earthquake struck in 1927, and now, 98 years later, the country sits squarely within the statistical window.”
The nightmare projection is a magnitude 7.5 earthquake centered in Beit She’an located in Northern Israel, south of the sea of Galilee. The scenario projects 16,000 fatalities, 6,000 severe injuries, and approximately 377,000 evacuations. Additionally, 10,000 buildings would collapse with tens of thousands sustaining major structural damage.”
This catastrophic event will shock and terrify the world! People will be listening from all around the globe. Much will be explained from Biblical prophecy. Negative sentiments will be compelling. Confusion will be everywhere. Many troops from other nations will be killed and controversy will arise when sympathies and help come from the nations. What will be circulated is that this judgement was sent from God!
Ezekiel
23” Foreign nations will realize that the Israelites were forced to leave their own land because they sinned against me. I turned my back on my people and let enemies attack and kill them. 24 Their lives were wicked and corrupt, and they deserved to be punished.
Note:
Learning this from the Bible will cause many to justify their hate against Israel. Others will see the irony and realize God needs to do this but redemption is coming. Notice in the next verse that God pivots and reverses the curse!
25 Now I will show mercy to the people of Israel and bring them back from the nations where they are living. They are Jacob’s descendants, so I will bless them and show that I am holy. 26 They will live safely in their own land, but will be ashamed when they remember their evil ways and how they disgraced me. 27 Foreign nations will watch as I take the Israelites from enemy lands and bring them back home, and those nations will see that I am holy. 28 My people will realize that I, the Lord their God, sent them away as prisoners and now will bring them back to their own land. 29 Never again will I turn my back on the people of Israel, and my Spirit will live in them. I, the Lord, have spoken. Ezekiel 39:23-29
Just like when a child fesses up to their rebellion and admits their fault – these events causes a national teshuvah. This true repentance empowered by the Holy Spirit causes conviction in the hearts of a whole nation. This is what God has been waiting for (See Zech. 12:9-10). The contrite hearts of the people of Zion will melt the heart of God.
What will people of the world concentrate on? They have a choice, the punishment (the curse) or the grace and mercy of reconciliation (the blessing).
EZEKIEL 38 SUMMARY
- The Revelation of God’s Sovereignty
God orchestrates these events to show His faithfulness to Israel, supreme power and holiness over all nations while making His will known to all.
And
- God’s Divine Protection and Authority
Through His intervention, God demonstrates His protection over Israel (Tziyon) and authority among all nations.
KIND DAVID AND PSALMS
King David’s has lot to say about power of God’s Tziyon as he mentions it 39 times in the Psalms.
“Let all who hate Tziyon be thrown back in confusion”. Psalm 129:5
“For Adonai has chosen Tziyon, He has wanted it as his home”. Psalm 132:13
“For God will save Tziyon, He will build the cities of Y’hudah. [His people] will settle there and possess it”. Psalm 69:36
Christians must not take swallow the negative narrative of the world. God’s heart is toward His people and bringing them to repentance. Any parent can understand this as we discipline our children. Sometimes lessons are harder on the parents than the child but they are necessary.
THE WORD’S NARRATIVE CONCERNING TZIYON
RIGHT WING CONPIRACIES
Right wing conspiracy theorists spread anti-Semitic ideas like the “Zionist Occupied Government” myth that claims Jews control all the world’s governments in secret. They misuse and abuse (defile) the term “Zion”, ignoring the biblical meaning and inference.
Adherents of the theory believe that the formal government is merely a puppet regime, while the real power lies with a secret Jewish organization that manipulates the economy, limits civil liberties, and controls foreign policy.
The expression is used by a range of antisemitic groups, including white supremacists, white nationalists, far-right organizations in Europe and the U.S., and some militant Islamist organizations
THE FAR LEFT EXTEMISTS
Extreme Leftist ridiculously accuses Israel of apartheid. They demean them as oppressors and Palestinians as the weaker oppressed. Really? Big military regimes and Terrorist organizations are oppressing innocent Israeli civilians- even babies.
Apartheid was coined as a brutal system of institutionalized racial segregation and discrimination enforced in South Africa from 1948 to the early 1990s, making the white minority rule over the Black majority by legally dividing people into racial groups and denying non-white citizens fundamental rights, dictating where they could live, work, marry, and access public facilities to maintain white supremacy. Rooted in colonial history and economic exploitation, apartheid laws created vast inequalities, forcing non-whites into separate, inferior living areas and systems, with resistance led by figures like Nelson Mandela eventually leading to its dismantling.
Conversely, in Israel about 45% of the Jews are considered people of color (Mizrahi)!
BIBLICAL ZION
Biblically speaking Tziyon represents God’s Presence, his protection, and the promise of a future Kingdom for all who follow God through His Word. When groups twist this to justify exclusion, oppression, or agendas, boastful self-righteous exaltation they are blind or resist biblical truth even proclaiming that they are God’s chosen instead. (Replacement theology).
TERRORISTS CHARTERS
ARTICLES FROM THE PLO CHARTER
- 9 – Armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine
- 15 – the liberation of Palestine aims at the elimination of Zionism in Palestine
- 22 – the liberation of Palestine will destroy the Zionist and imperialists presence and will contribute to the establishment of peace in the middle east
ARTICLES FROM THE HAMAS CHARTER
- Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) calls Zionsts “invaders” claims that the Day of Judgement will not come until all Jews have been killed or submitted to Islam.*
*NOTE: This group vehemently declares nothing, but death or submission of Israel will satisfy their demands. There will be
- No peace deals
- No 2 state solutions
- No threats of sanctions
- No ceasefire deals
- No prisoner trade offs
In essence they are demanding (in a sense) that God remove His mark – His Tziyon.
They purpose to remove the God of the Jews, kill his people, destroy his nation and take His land. In the words of Micah in our opening scripture – “Defile Tziyon”.
But God promises to restore Tzion (His mark on His people, nation and Land)
We trust by his Word that he will destroy those who come against Israel.
HE WILL DESTROY THOSE WHO SEEK TO DESTROY

“For here is what Adonai says to me: “As a lion or lion cub growls at its prey and isn’t frightened away by the shouts of hordes of shepherds called out against him — their voices do not upset him — so likewise Adonai-Tzva’ot will descend to fight on Mount Tziyon, on its hill”. Isaiah 31:4
THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL WILL RETURN TO THE LORD’S TZIYON

REMINDERS FROM ROMANS 11
I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means!
15 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.
17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble.21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. 22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
29 for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. 32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.
The children of your oppressors shall come, bowing before you; All those who despised you, shall bow low at your feet. They shall call you “City of the Lord,” “Zion of the Holy One of Israel.” Read Is. 60
GOD WILL FIGHT AGAINST ISRAEL’S ENEMIES
- Those on the Wrong side of the final prophecy
- Those who listen, entertain, repeat and believe the World’s Narrative of Tziyon
- Those who hijack Tziyon as their own – not according to the Will of God but while replacing Judah. with themselves through gloating self-righteousness (These are arrogant ones boasting against the Branches – against the very ones that produced the fruit!)
- Those who lash out against Tziyon in hatred – ostracizing, belittling, and even physically attacking the Jews.
- Those who hate physically fight against Israel – even aiding the nations who fight against them.
- Israel’s Enemies are God’s Enemies
How many will be convinced and moved by God’s display of awesome power?
According to Gen 12:3, He will bless those who bless the Covenant with Abraham
and He will curse those who curse the chosen or marked people (these are His words), the greatest nation (His Words) or the wonderful and beautiful land (His words).
Choose you this day either cursing or blessing! You must choose! Do you trust in all of God’s promises concerning the people, the Nation and the Land?
A FAMOUS QUOTE
A desperate message written by besieged Abdi-Heba the Canaanite ruler of Jerusalem to a 14th century pharaoh of Egypt, begged for his help as de facto ruler of the Levant. God can not be moved by man’s desperate attempts of self-aggrandisement!
“As the king has placed his name in Jerusalem forever, he cannot abandon it—the land of Jerusalem.”
GOD’S COVENANT WILL BE COMPLETELY FULFILLED BY GOD’S MARK
The Land goes Back to the Lord:
“But the land must not be sold without a right to recover it, for the land really belongs to me. You are actually resident aliens under my authority”. Lev. 25:23
The People make Teshuvah and are Redeemed!
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication”. Zech. 12:10
The Nation Becomes the Head of Nation over all Other Nations!
“This is what the Lord says: “Be happy and sing for Jacob! Shout for Israel, the greatest of the nations! Sing your praises and shout: ‘Lord, save your people! Save those who are left alive from the nation of Israel.” Jer. 31:7
GOD’S CHOICE
