“Adonai came from Sinai; from Se‘ir he dawned on his people, shone forth from Mount Pa’ran; and with him were myriads of holy ones; at his right hand was a fiery law for them. 3 He truly loves the peoples — all his holy ones are in your hand; sitting at your feet, they receive your instruction Deut. 33:1-3
Matthew 5 – Now when He saw the crowds, He went up on a mountain (as Moses had done before Him)and He sat down (as Jewish teachers of His day usually did). His disciples gathered around Him.(and crowds began to assemble)
Just as the Law (instruction) came down in glory to God’s Chosen people on Mt. Sinai, God’s Living Torah, Yeshua dawned over the crowds that began to gather around Him on the mountain near the Sea of Galilee and He began to illuminate the Torah.
Like Moses (blessing the tribes) Yeshua starts with blessings; Blessed is the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger for righteous-ness, the merciful, pure in heart, the peace makers, and those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness.. then He expounds on the fiery Torah of God
Mt. 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill (explain correctly) them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment.
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
38 “You have heard that our fathers were told, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.39 But I tell you not to stand up against someone who does you wrong.
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you…
Yeshua emphasized the instructions of God He by no means condemned God’s Holy Word.
