Revelation 1 — The Revelation of Yeshua
The revelation begins by identifying the source:
“The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon take place.” Revelation 1:1
The Lamb who was slain is now the risen King.
Yeshua declares:
“I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
Revelation 1:18
John introduces the prophetic symbols:
- The stars representing heavenly messengers
- The menorahs representing the congregations illuminated by the Spirit
The message begins with a promise: All that the prophets have spoken about over the millennia of time is now manifesting and the Messiah is returning… soon.
Revelation 2–3 — The Seven Letters to the Churches
The seven churches represent real congregations at the time of the writing, but also reveal the spiritual conditions found throughout history within the various expressions of Christianity.
Yeshua calls His people (the Church) to repent, overcome, prepare, and endure for the events are coming.
Revelation 4 — The Throne Room of Heaven
John is taken into the heavenly throne room.
He sees:
- The throne of God
- The twenty-four elders
- The four living creatures
- Continuous worship
Heaven is filled with praise:
“Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.”
Creation recognizes the holiness and authority of the Creator.
Revelation 5 — The Worthy Lamb
John sees the sealed scroll containing the prophetic plan of God. No one is worthy to open it except the Lamb.
The reason Yeshua can open the scroll is because He has received authority:
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.”
The judgments are not random destruction — they are part of the process of removing evil and establishing righteousness.
Revelation 6 — The Seven Seals
The seals reveal the beginning of the end-time process.
First Seal — Conquest
The rider represents the drive for worldly dominion and victory.
Second Seal — War
Human conflict and bloodshed increase. As war escalates, love wanes among men.
Third Seal — Economic Crisis
The scales represent scarcity, inflation, and hardship.
Fourth Seal — Death
Famine, disease, and destruction increase.
Fifth Seal — The Martyrs
Those who died for their testimony receive white robes.
They are told to wait until the appointed number of those to be killed for their faith is complete.
Sixth Seal — Cosmic Disturbance
The earth shakes violently, as volcanos pop, the atmosphere grows dark and terrified humanity recognizes the coming judgment of God.
Revelation 7 — God’s Servants are Sealed Before the Seventh Seal is Opened
Before His judgment over the whole Earth continues, God seals His people.
The 144,000 are marked as belonging to Him. He seals them to protect them through the great tribulation. The 12,000 Jews, 12,000 Benjamite’s and 12,000 Levites are mostly identifiable as modern Jews and Israelis of today. The other nine tribes are described to be assimilated within the Nations and not identifiable as Israel but by other nationalities and Gentile peoples.
A second scene develops as John sees a great multitude from every nation standing before the throne. It is explained that this group are the ones that have achieved righteousness in God and have come out of the great tribulation. No longer do they cry and suffer for they are now before the throne of God.
Revelation 8–11 — The Trumpet Judgments
The seventh seal introduces the seven trumpet judgments.
God does not initiate these judgments without the prayers of those who belong to Him.
The first four trumpets partially affect:
- The earth
- The creatures and ships in and on the seas
- Contamination of the fresh waters
- The heavenly atmosphere reducing light from the sun and moon.
The final three trumpets are called “woes” as they release evil spiritual presences and dark supernatural events.
The Fifth Trumpet — The First Woe
A fallen star (angel) opens the abyss.
The locust-like beings bring torment for a time but not complete destruction.
These judgments on the Earth contain mercy because God is still calling humanity to repentance.
When You corrected their wrongdoing, Eternal One, they could even whisper a prayer. Weak with distress, they looked to You for help. Is. 26:16 VOICE
The Sixth Trumpet — The Second Woe
The four most evil fallen angels that have been bound at the Euphrates since the flood are now released.
This becomes a major turning point in the Earth.
The rest of humanity refuses repentance:
“They did not repent of their murders, magic arts, sexual immorality, or thefts.” Rev. 9:21
This is where mankind is now separated in the spiritual realm. Those who belong to God from those who do not. The mark of the beast is instituted upon those who have chosen the beast system and its leaders. The world moves toward the final rebellion.
The believers now wait for their soon coming deliverance and the catching away of the Saints that happens when the seventh and last Trump is blown. Once they are removed, this trumpet will initiate the pouring out of the Seven Bowls of Wrath upon the wicked.
Revelation 10 — The Little Scroll
John receives the scroll.
It is sweet because God’s Word is good for those who love Him and are called by His Name, but bitter because the coming events also involve judgment upon the wicked.
Seven Voices roar like a lion as the mystery of God is reaching its completion within the nations.
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a rousing cry, with a call from one of the ruling angels, and with God’s shofar; those who died united with the Messiah will be the first to rise; 17 then we who are left still alive will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus, we will always be with the Lord. 1 Thes. 4:16-17 CJB
The Lord thundered from the sky; God Most High let his voice be heard. 14 He scattered his enemies with his arrows— the lightning bolts that threw them into confusion 15 Lord, you shouted your command, and a powerful wind began to blow… 16 He reached down from above and grabbed me. He pulled me from the deep water. 17 He saved me from my powerful enemies, who hated me. They were too strong for me, so he saved me. Psalm 18:13-17 ERV
Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the wrath is past. Is. 26:20
Revelation 11 — The Two Witnesses
Simultaneously and just before the seventh trumpet is blown to commence God’s wrath on the wicked, the scene changes from the nations to Jerusalem. The temple is measured. Measured – not by length and breadth but by quantity and of how many.
The two witnesses stand as prophetic voices:
“These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands” witnessing to His people Israel. These witnesses testify to His glory and win many Jewish souls to trust in God.
God identifies those who truly belong to Him and actually puts the “capstone” (last and final stone) that completes His Temple of Jewish Living Stones -His Saints. (See Zec. 4)
The testimony of the two witnesses will continue until their appointed time is complete and when the number of Jewish souls is completed then the witnesses will be killed for their testimony. God calls: “Come up here” as they are translated like those from the nations into Heaven.
At the time of 7th trumpet, God’s people have been delivered, and the fierce judgement of God’s Kingdom defeats the kingdoms of the world.
This completes the story thus far. The subsequent chapters go back and re-emphasize important aspects of the Beast and its system.
Revelation 12–13 — The Dragon and the Beast – Signs in the Heavens
We see a rewind of time as Revelation 12 reveals this mysterious story written in the constellations.
- The woman (Israel)
- The child (The Messiah)
- The dragon (Satan –The opposer against God’s purposes).
Revelation 13 also rewinds the story to reveal the beast systems empowered by the dragon.
The secular world worships the beast because of its authority. The mark represents allegiance to an idolatrous god and its economic control. God’s people are called to endurance and faithfulness as they resist the system.
Revelation 14 — The Harvests at the Seventh Trumpet
- Those who Remain
This chapter picks up the story in Jerusalem as the 144,000 are seen again on Mt. Zion now standing with the Lamb singing a special song that no one else knows. They are spiritually pure like virgins and verse 5 declares: They never tell lies, and they are innocent.
But I, the Lord, won’t destroy any of your people who are truly humble and turn to me for safety. 13 The people of Israel who survive will live right and refuse to tell lies. They will eat and rest with nothing to fear. 14 Everyone in Jerusalem and Judah, celebrate and shout with all your heart! 15 Zion, your punishment is over. The Lord has forced your enemies to turn and retreat. Your Lord is King of Israel and stands at your side; you don’t have to worry about any more troubles. 16 Jerusalem, the time is coming, when it will be said to you: “Don’t be discouraged or grow weak from fear! 17 The Lord your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and he will refresh your life with his love.” Zeph. 3:12-17
These are the ones that have made it through the tribulation and are alive when He returns.
- The Unrighteous
- The Beast religious and governmental system of Babylon are brought down.
- The ones who worship the beast system and the idol and who have the mark of the drink of God’s wrath.
The unrighteous will be harvested for torment.
- Those Without the Mark
There are people left on the Earth that have not received the mark and are hearing the everlasting gospel being preached by one the 3 angels that were sent out for harvesting. God encourages these people that are left on the earth to endure and remain faithful.
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” Rev. 14.13
These new believers will die in the Lord.
The righteous and the unrighteous of the earth are now separated and ready for the harvests.
Revelation 15–16 — The Bowls of Wrath
The temple in heaven opens. The seven angels receive the bowls of God’s wrath and pour them out on the earth.
The judgments include:
- Painful sores
- The sea becoming blood
- Waters becoming blood
- Scorching heat
- Darkness
- The gathering of armies for Armageddon
- The final earthquake
God’s justice is poignantly and painfully administered on the unrighteous.
Revelation 17–18 — Judgement on the Fallen Angels of Babylon
The chapters of Revelation don’t always move in a linear fashion. It often backs up and shows a different aspect or perspective of the end time events.
John is invited to back up in time a bit and see why the bowls of wrath that have been prepared and are ready to be poured out on evil Babylon.
He is shown the beast system that has deceived the nations. He sees the wicked angels who have fallen to Earth and now embody and control the Beast government and the Mystery Babylon religious system. In this depiction, Babylon “falling” does not mean it is overpowered or destroyed – at least not yet – but rather like Revelation 12 the devil and his angels (Babylon) have fallen to the Earth and are operating. These bowls of wrath are waiting to be poured out after the 7th or final trump but before that happens God must remove His people as His wrath is not stored up for the righteous but rather the unrighteous.
Revelation 19 — A Heavenly Scene of Rejoicing as The King and the Church Return to the Earth
Two great events occur:
The Announcement of the Wedding Supper Invitation
The bride in Heaven is gathered together and sings Hallelujah. They wait for the descent to earth and the promise of the resurrection of their glorified bodies.
The Return of Messiah
Yeshua returns as King with His warrior Bride on chariot clouds (also described as white horses) of glory and defeats the beast. And because His people are now in their glorified bodies – not a weapon formed against them can hurt them.
The enemies of God gathered for the Battle of Armageddon are defeated.
Revelation 20 — The Kingdom Reign
Satan is bound. Messiah reigns for 1,000 years. The Nations learn Torah.
After 1,000 years, satan is released and tempts those in the nations to rebel against God in a final war.
Afterwards comes the final judgment before the Great White Throne. Every person must stand before God. All the bodies in the graves of the earth and sea are emptied. Every soul of man Nephilim and even the fallen angels stand before God and His spotless bride for final judgement.
Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Rev. 20:15 NIV
Revelation 21 — The New Heaven and New Earth
John sees the Holy City descending.
The greatest promise:
God dwells with humanity. There is no temple because God Himself is present.
Revelation 22 — The Final Invitation
The Bible ends with an invitation:
“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’”
The river of life flows. The Tree of Life is restored. The curse is gone. The King is Present. Not just for a time or an era but rather forever!
The final words of Scripture are:
“Yes, I am coming soon.”
And the response of the faithful:
“Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”
CONCLUSION: THE PURPOSE OF REVELATION
Revelation was not given to create fear. It was given to prepare the people of God.
It reveals:
- How to pray
- How to endure
- How to recognize deception
- How to remain faithful
- How to prepare for the Kingdom
