A divine promissory agreement was initiated by the Creator and King of the universe with his creation and was documented as official and binding Heavenly documents that he shared with us. He calls it His Word. His word is His bond, and He is bound to performing all of them. This includes the blessings and the curses.
God uses two simple determinations in his agreement with man- there is nothing else to agree to. There are blessing or cursing – two choices – you choose.
There are instructions on the those who choose blessing. It’s like a contractual agreement.
You must understand the terms before you sign. Then you can begin to enjoy your blessing
God laid out the terms for blessing or cursing in Deut. 28. With the stipulation of adhering to God’s terms.
What are the terms?
In Mathew 22:36-40, a Torah priest asked Yeshua “Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Torah?” 37 He replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: You must love your neighbor as you love yourself. 40 All the Torah and the books of the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
God initiated this agreement of blessing or cursing with one man Abraham – a dynasty trust to future generations – he included family descendants and covenantal friends in this agreement. The covenant is automatically transferable to the next generation and to those who follow the terms.
The promise was detailed in Genesis 12:1-3
- He promised Abraham a Land and sovereign or great nation (for his generations to live in and that God would return to and rule from).
- A great and powerful Name
- A means by which all the whole world could be blessed.
The Land, Nation and Name
It is written in contract concerning Jerusalem or Mt. Zion, “For Adonai has chosen Tziyon, he has wanted it as his home”. Psalm 132:13
Concerning the land it is written, “Your land must not be sold on a permanent basis, because you do not own it; it belongs to God, and you are like foreigners who are allowed to make use of it. Lev. 25:23
Now God has miraculously made the name of Israel is great. With only 0.12% of the world’s population, it places 1st in the world’s technology per capita. Its army ranks in the top 10% of all the nations and the tiny country ranks 3rd in best-performing global economies. This could not happen without divine intervention.
The Blessing to the World
Now concerning the third thing God promised was that Abraham would be the gateway to blessing of all the families of the Earth.
How?
It’s simple – as God is not a liar – He said; I will bless those who bless you (your land, your nation, your people). And I will curse those you curse you.
Let all who hate Tziyon be thrown back in confusion. Psalm 129:5
Anti-Semitism and hate are spirits unleashed from Hell along with offense and anger. If you find yourself with an unexplained anger toward Israel; If you find yourself actually “hating” a people or agreeing with the world’s inflammatory rhetoric against God’s an entire nation- painting a broad brush of judgment, then ask yourself why? Is this Christlike? Does it portray grace and mercy? Is it possible you are being manipulated by forces of darkness an cursing?
Many who have received the blessing of Messiah’s benefits have turned their hearts against Israel along with Abraham’s descendants, Abraham’s land and Abraham’s nation. They have cursed what God has blessed. Israel is God’s land – and He has placed stewards (His brothers – His people) over His Land until He comes with His Kingdom.
So why do so many want to curse what God has blessed by His own Word?
The Apostle Paul tells us; “You were running the race beautifully. Who cut in on you and stopped you from obeying the truth? 8 Such influence does not come from the one who calls you.14 For the whole Law is summarized in a single statement: “You must love your neighbor as yourself”. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. 24 Now those who belong to the Messiah Jesus have crucified their flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also be guided. 26 Let’s stop being arrogant, provoking one another and envying one another. Gal 5:7-8,14,22-26
His Word also warns us, “So take a good look at God’s kindness and his severity: on the one hand, severity toward those who fell off; but, on the other hand, God’s kindness toward you — provided you maintain yourself in that kindness! Otherwise, you too will be cut off! Rom. 11:22
This is what God loves – we need to love what he loves and help others understand how important is for their own sake to support Israel.
“Adonai-Tzva’ot says, ‘I am extremely jealous on Tziyon’s behalf, and I am jealous for her with great fury.’ Zechariah 8:2
Bless Her or curse Her – it’s your choice.
